Job Description:
We are seeking a new Head Chef to join our team for
approximately 4 months this fall from early September thorugh
December 17, 2023. To be clear on compensation, we will pay $22,500
up to $35,000 for the season based on experience. In addition, the
Chef receives $8,000-$12,000 in tips depending on how clients like
the food and the personality. Timberghost has been in business here
in Iowa for almost 25 years and is a highly respected whitetail
outfitter Iowa. Our guests have hunted all over the world and are
avid outdoor enthusiasts. Our mission is to provide our guests with
incredible service in and out of the field by having a professional
and courteous ensure they enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendly
camaraderie Timberghost is known for. At a very high level, your
primary role will be to ensure our clients are offered high quality
meals cooked great and on time as well as making sure the kitchen
is always clean and stocked with everything you need to get the job
done. While it is our operation, it will be your kitchen. As a key
member of our Lodge Staff, you will work with 4-6 other team
members whose primary responisbilities lie in housekeeping and meal
service. Together you will work towards ensuring the clients enjoy
their time in the lodge as much as their time with our guides in
the field. What You Will Do: Coordinate and execute all meal prep
for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 20-30 people to ensure meals
are tasty, healthy, nutritious, well balanced and presentable and
being able to accomodate clients with allergies and special diets.
Produce food and meals in a timely manner, at scheduled and agreed
upon times. Coordinate, supervise and execute maintaining inventory
of food and supplies. Maintain food preparation and personal
hygiene techniques based on strict county health and safety codes.
Maintain a very clean, neat & tidy kitchen both in look and
reality. Coordinate kitchen maintenance projects Maintain a high
level of safety in the kitchen, with emphasis on handling of hot
items, floor maintenance and safety procedures. Ability to
communicate effectively with other staff and clients. What You Will
Bring: Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant
experience and the following credentials/skills: Customer Service
and Satisfaction Culinary Degree or Certification preferred Menu
Planning Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Special Diets Culinary
Management Food Service Ordering & Deliveries Knowledge of Cooking

the meals and service our guests receive, is a vital component of
our guests overall Timberghost experience and nearly as important
to them as the hunting experience and quality of their harvest.
Timberghost is known for the incredible teamwork seen from our
staff, the quality of the services provided, and the professional,
but friendly camaraderie we share with our guests during their time
with us here in Iowa. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and fun,
but behind the scenes we all work very hard to make sure that the
entire Timberghost staff always comes across professional and
courteous. We understand that years of experience with our
operation are an enormous advantage that first year members don't
typically have. The senior crew is committed to providing the newer
staff with all the information and guidance possible to help them
become knowledgeable and confident team members here at Timberghost
so please ask one of them if you have any questions. As the Chef it
is important to note that meal quality, presentation, and timing is
of great importance. No matter how great the hunting is, if the
meals are bad or poorly managed that is what they will talk about
to other potential clients that ask about their trip. If they have
a rough hunt but the meals were great, they will say the hunting
was tough and that happens, but the food and the service at the
lodge were incredible. A positive experience in the lodge is
essential to making sure our guests have a great trip and will
directly impact how they speak about our operation to other hunters
and ensure that regardless of the outcome of the hunt the report
will be a positive one. It all matters!!! Salary range for this
position is $22,500 - $35,000 per year. Employment Type:
