Arconic is looking for a Mechanical Technician to join the Machine Shop area of our Global RolledProducts (GRP) business unit in Davenport, Iowa. The Mechanical Technician assigned to the Machine Shop will providetechnical troubleshooting skills to maintenance and operations to restoreproduct flow, as well as provide technical leadership and training to craftemployees. Job Duties & Responsibilities: - Providestechnical solutions to recurring design, process and application problems, andanalyze equipment and process data to identify opportunities and developsolutions and system improvements; - Coordinateand schedule short and long-term outage planning, and assist supervisors andcrafts in following up on issues and items from the daily management actionregister; - Develop,manage and implement small capital projects, major repairs and maintenanceprojects, and support engineering; - Designof manufacturing processes and procedures; - Leadequipment reliability improvements; - Upskillmaintenance crafts and supervisors to perform equipment tasks - Involvementwith continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods. Work hand inhand with craft employees; - Actas a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel; - Coordinateand plan departmental jobs; - Assistin justification of new equipment; - Interfacewith other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues; - Adhereto Arconic EH & S, quality, continuous improvement and other companypolicies; - Assumeother special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required; - Integratedrole as direct support of the Maintenance Organization; - Thisposition will require the candidate to be flexible with hours, as hours forthis role will be dependent on business needs. #LI-KR1 Qualifications BasicQualifications: - HighSchool diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution; - Minimum2 years' experience with in a manufacturing environment and machine repair; - Minimum2 years' experience in mechanical systems and controls utilized in industrialapplications; - Thisposition is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)which requires U.S. person status. ITARdefines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'GreenCard Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee; - Employeesmust be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification ofemployment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorshipis not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications: - Experienceworking on rolling mill equipment (overhead cranes and gantries Mills, rolls,mill drive components, shears, table rolls, coilers, etc), Aluminum, steel orPaper rolling preferred; - Strongmaintenance background; - Productand process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturingtechniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, etc.; - Designing,installing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial hydraulic and pneumaticsystems; - Designing,fabricating and installing mechanical equipment; - Strongproblem solving and creative thinking skills; - Strongwritten and oral communications skills with the ability to work and interact atall levels of the organization; - Abilityto work with cross-functional teams; - Proficientwith Microsoft Office Suite; - Interpretblueprints from mechanical drawings.
