Are You Looking to Make A Difference? LSI is seeking a full-time Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) for our residential campus. DUTIES The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) is responsible for providing and/or overseeing recreational therapy services, also known as therapeutic recreation, to systematically utilize recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the implementation and oversight of treatment services and recreation activities, including but not limited to arts and crafts, animals, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and community outings to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual functioning of clients served on Bremwood Campus as well as ensure consistent adherence to LSI structure, policies and procedures. Must be Mandt trained (provided through agency) and willing to work nights and weekends as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field such as recreation and leisure studies with an emphasis or concentration in recreational therapy/therapeutic recreation. 6 months work related experience working with youth programming. Working knowledge relating to assessment, human anatomy, medical and psychiatric terminology, characteristics of illnesses and disabilities, and the use of assistive devices and technology. This position requires a valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
