Job Description:

The Accounting Associate performs a variety of transactional accounting processes, functionally focused on accounts payable and billing. This position is responsible for timely review and data entry of accounts payable invoices into the system. The Accounting Associate may work with more senior accounting staff, divisional staff, or suppliers to resolve general issues. This position must maintain a high level of accuracy and personal drive to ensure compliance with required processing deadlines. The role will be more independent with higher levels of knowledge and experience and will report to the divisional accounting manager/controller.

Main functions of this role include:

Reviewing and keying invoices for payment, both for direct and indirect purchasing

Performing daily billing for direct shipments to customers and indirect scrap sales

Maintaining accurate records for reference and compliance

Supporting recurring audit requests (quarterly, annually, ad hoc)

Supporting company continuous improvement activities

Participating in scheduled training / educational opportunities and meeting as needed

Minimum Qualifications

* Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience in accounting/finance
* Proven accounting knowledge, specifically with payables and revenue recognition
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, with emerging Excel skills
* Ability to collect and consolidate data from multiple locations and systems
* Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills
* Ability to work as a team and independently
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required
