Quality Program Manager

OBJECTIVE: The Quality Program Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing successful management of a focused quality operation within a manufacturing supply chain.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With the support of TRIGO team members, develop and implement all aspects of a dedicated, proactive inspection gate to detect non-conforming parts from a diverse supply chain (machined castings, weldments, wire harnesses and electrical components, gears, tubes and flex lines, and hardware among others) prior to them reaching the customer's assembly line.
  • After design and implementation, to manage all aspects of the quality operation including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring top priority parts in terms of risk to the assembly are inspected
  • Training the inspectors on processes, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and foundations of dimensional metrology including proper measurement tool selection and use
  • Managing the inspectors (scheduling, performance reviews cross training and back-up, coaching and mentoring)
  • Validating the inspection results of inspectors
  • Communicating inspection results, both individual detail as well as aggregate reporting, to the customer
  • Communicating inspection results with the individual part manufacturers and supporting Corrective Actions and related documentation
  • Supporting the resolution plans for non-conforming material received (scrap, rework, return)
  • Making recommendations on gaging and equipment to enhance the results of the operation

  • Implementation and use of an existing TRIGO online control plan tool (training provided)
  • Perform data mining and analysis to focus the facility quality efforts, protect the customer's products, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain process documentation
  • Utilize and operate the customer's inventory and quality computer systems
  • Ensure accurate, reliable and timely results in analysis, metrics and reporting functions

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS and COMPETENCIES

  • Expert level proficiency using MS Office and computer operating systems
  • Expert level knowledge of blueprints, inspection techniques, and industrial standards
  • Fundamental understanding of basic quality principles such as root cause analysis, corrective action, continuous improvement, etc...
  • Proven record of job diligence and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and time management skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Educational or work experience in quality operations and/or manufacturing processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is located in a production environment, as such you may be exposed to the following:
  • Walking between workstations, assembly lines and office areas.
  • Noise levels consistent with a busy office and assembly line

OPPORTUNITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Individual training in methods and procedures to set-up a world class inspection facility. Training to be on-site and short-term travel to local existing facilities during the on-boarding.
  • Individual support on operational management, processes and best practices
  • Part of a team of other site managers sharing results, best practices, tips, tricks tools and methods to support each other.
  • Ability to own an operation, including working with the customer and the internal TRIGO team to make suggestions on advancement of capabilities and processes among others

Pay Rate: $60,000 Annually
