Start Date: 4/6/2026 About the Position Job Summary The Registered
Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive patient care in the Med/Surg
Orthopedic unit at Methodist Medical Center. The RN is responsible
for managing a designated group of patients during assigned shifts
and delivering high-quality care through the nursing process. This
role involves patient assessment, care planning, implementation of
nursing interventions, and continuous evaluation to ensure optimal
patient outcomes. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians,
healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams while
maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring patient safety. Key
Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients in the
Med/Surg Orthopedic unit. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
upon admission and throughout the patient stay. Develop
individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
Implement nursing interventions and patient care procedures in
accordance with unit standards. Monitor patient progress and modify
care plans as needed through continuous evaluation. Maintain
accurate and up-to-date documentation in the electronic health
record system. Ensure compliance with hospital policies,
procedures, and regulatory standards. Promote patient and staff
safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting potential hazards.
Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and
interdisciplinary team members. Provide constructive feedback and
support the professional development of peers. Participate in
departmental competencies and continuing education initiatives.
Requirements Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited
program Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License in good
standing BLS Certification (American Heart Association) Minimum 3
