Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Location: Peoria, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,330 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate Must-Have: Experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens Description: The unit consists of 19 private beds. Nurse-to-patient ratios are based on unit census. The typical ratio is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Ratios may vary to 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. 1:1 staffing is provided for specific medications or therapies. Common diagnoses include various types of cancer, hematology, and medical patients. The team provides care to radiation oncology patients as well as gynecologic oncology patients. Experience with administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy is essential. Nurses are responsible for following handling precautions for chemotherapy and monitoring for medication side effects. There is a Charge Nurse present 24/7; they may occasionally take on a patient assignment. A house supervisor is also available around the clock. Patient care technicians assist on the unit with staffing based on patient census. Respiratory equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP is used, with some oversight from nurses. Telemetry monitoring is conducted department-wide, but nurses are not required to interpret strips. Shifts are 12 hours starting at either 0700 or 1900, depending on the unit's needs. Self-scheduling is available, balancing requests with operational requirements. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holidays are worked every other holiday. Floating is expected as part of the role, with rotations based on previous float frequency. No specific scrub color is mandated. The unit uses EPIC Beacon for electronic medical record documentation.
