As the Director of Physical Plant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the university's physical infrastructure, ensuring a safe, efficient, and sustainable environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Physical Plant department, overseeing a team of professionals responsible for facilities management, maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and operations.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the departmental budget, allocating resources effectively to support maintenance, repairs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintenance and Operations: Implement comprehensive maintenance programs to ensure the upkeep of buildings, grounds, utilities, and other campus facilities. Coordinate emergency response efforts as needed.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Drive initiatives to enhance sustainability practices across campus, including energy conservation, waste management, and green building initiatives.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes pertaining to building safety, accessibility, and environmental standards.
  • Project Management: Oversee construction projects and renovations from inception to completion, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external contractors to achieve project goals on time and within budget.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience (5+ years) in facilities management, preferably in a university or large institutional setting.
    • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing teams and driving operational excellence.
    • In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including senior management, faculty, and external partners.
    • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
