JOIN OUR TEAM
The Medical Director has ultimate authority and responsibility for the clinical care of all patients in all programs of VFCMHC and shall provide direct services and appropriate supervisory oversight with respect to diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical services for all patients. He/she will have a direct supervisory relationship regarding clinical care issues with Psychiatrists, ARNPs and Outpatient Nursing staff
THE POSITION:
Duties Include:

• 
  
• Assures that all Vera French patients receive appropriate evaluation, diagnosis, medical screening and medical/psychiatric evaluation whenever indicated.
  
• Assures that clinical staff receives appropriate clinical supervision.
  
• Oversees the work of all physicians and psychiatric certified ARNPs.
  
• Completes mapping and providers oversight for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment of patients
  
• Supervises treatment of TMS patients to ensure receiving prescribed treatment according to established procedures and protocols.
  
• Assures the appropriate implementation of clinical staff development and staff training activities.
  
• Assures through a multidisciplinary process the appropriate privileging and regular performance review of all clinical staff.
  
• Provides direct psychiatric services.
  
• Advises the CEO regarding the development and review of Vera French's programs, positions, and budgets that impact clinical services.
  
• Participates in a clearly defined and regular relationship with the Board of Directors and its Clinical Care Subcommittee.
  
• Participates with the CEO in regular and direct communications with the County and State mental health program director's office, where appropriate, regarding psychiatric and clinical care issues.
  
• Prior clinical and administrative experience sufficient to enable him/her to carry out functions of the Medical Director.
  
• Demonstrated leadership skills and supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team of professional staff.

    • Clinically licensed (or qualified to be) in the State of Iowa
