We have an immediate opening for an Area Manager for the Ingot Department. The Area Manager will be accountable for Environmental, Health, and Safety results, productivity improvements, employee development, maximizing the value of diversity, and customer delivery through implementation of Arconic Business Systems (ABS) principles, including Daily Management, Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, etc. This position is responsible for the 24/7 operation of four crews.

The Ingot Materials Area Manager will be responsible (but not limited to) the following job duties:


  • Ensure consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost and always with safety at the forefront of every activity.
  • Serve as the top resource of the vertical help chain for area, and as the primary customer/supplier representative for the area in the horizontal help chain for the respective flow path.
  • Work with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure the execution of the financial goals and expectations are set for each respective year.
  • Support the plant in strategic business improvement activities that will focus on improving the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity with a results-oriented approach
  • Responsible for planning and sometimes leading Kaizen, TPM, and safety events for the assigned areas.
  • Coach and counsel Production Coaches, production Engineers, and any other staff personnel in the assigned area.
  • Set / review annual development and performance objectives for salaried employees.
  • Actively participate in the development of departmental A3/strategic plan; Set, execute and report 30-60-90-day plans in support of the departmental A3/strategic plan.
  • Ensure the daily management boards are developed, implemented, and maintained to facilitate appropriate focus on the department's objectives, performance, and improvements being made.
  • Control production expenses associated with area Key competencies.
  • Engage resources available within assigned area to meet area objectives set by the Area Manager, the Lead Area Manager, and executive managers in support of business objectives.
  • While this position is primarily a M-F 1st shift position, this position will be expected to provide support off-shift (including weekends and off-hours). Remove obstacles increasing productivity and solving problems to root cause.
  • Maintain Scrap utilization targets, saw adherence, maintain invalids. Successfully perform quarterly and plant wide inventories.
  • Collaborate with SCM to ensure material is in the right place at the right time to meet casting schedule adherence and business needs.
  • Support the design and engineering of equipment, facility, and flow paths to optimize total system productivity
  • Coordinate and implement Lean Manufacturing principles across the department's material flow paths; must gain a complete view and understanding of the area's manufacturing process to be successful
  • Provide project management and single point accountability for the development and implementation of new technologies internally that will provide market advantages to Arconic
  • Provide insight and vision necessary to identify technologies and processes that will mesh with the overall business strategy and provide competitive advantage for the business
  • Direct a variety of activities by internal manufacturing personnel, outside vendors and partners as well as customers to develop value-added technologies for Arconic
  • Coordinate efforts on process improvements, including capital projects, and will support and lead the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements.



    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with direct supervision of multiple groups.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.




      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
      • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) demonstrated through strong business relationship building skills.
      • Experience within a heavy manufacturing environment.
      • Continuous Improvement / Lean experience / Lean tools (Kaizen, Hoshin, TPM, PS, etc.).
      • Experience with Change management and Leading Teams
      • Technical and project management experience.
      • Experience with Aluminum processes and equipment.
